A story, a fable, a fable

M and I just sent my friend Paco Val. (A gentleman, the Kingdom of Granada, happily married husband and father, living in Madrid). I liked and I transcribe here. Lean:

In the belly of a pregnant woman, two twins hold a brief and interesting conversation because one of them is a believer and atheist.

- Atheist: "Brother, you believe in life after birth?

- The Believer : Of course. Everyone knows that there is life after birth. We are here to grow, be strong, and prepare for what awaits us when we leave.

- Atheist: Nonsense! There can be no life after birth.
Can you imagine how it would be this life?

- The Believer: I do not know the details and now I have no great imagination, but I guess there is more light outside. Perhaps there we walk and feed themselves.

- Atheist: What nonsense! It is impossible to walk and feed themselves! We have the umbilical cord that feeds us. I just want to remember this: life after birth is impossible, because our life depends on the cord and the cord is too short.

- Believers: I'm sure it's possible. Only it will be a little different
. Perhaps very different.

- Atheist: But there is nobody who has returned from there, do not kid yourself. Life simply ends with the birth. And, frankly, life is full of discomfort in the dark. This is too narrow for both.

- Believers: I do not know exactly what life will
after birth but in any case, we know our mother, and she takes care of us!

- Atheist: Mom, you say? Do you think we have a mom? And then where is it?

- Believers: She's everywhere, all around us, and we met
inside. We move through it and through it
are alive. Without it we would not exist.

- Atheist: What nonsense! I have not seen a mother so; therefore does not exist.

- Believers: I not seen it. But when you give me kicks, and we had good times of peace, I hear her sing, it's a sweet music. I am looking forward to it. So in addition to hearing it, we'll see.

What? It refers to the bottom and by comparison, our findings, judgments and imaginations about God, the supernatural life and eternity, all that is commonly says 'the afterlife' . Exists and is real ... and not see and some do not intrepret good evidence that others would perceive as signs of certainty.

In relative sense, the other day wrote another friend (also lord, also married, husband and father, Madrid also) something that connects to the same thing: The disturbing and troubling questions of 'professional theologians' front of the solid certainty of the poor spirit, the simple believers, the charcoal with faith .

The two reflections are worth to give a boil (or two) in the spiritual stew, and take and take substance and flavor. Just today, just start the countdown - we are in the Septuagint Week! - And should be motivated for Lent is about etc.
